Old World Florida – VIP Gala Event at the Palmetto Club (Click for Photos)
Posted on December 21st, 2009 - No Comments

When it came time for a national community developer to select a caterer and production team for their annual VIP rewards reception, they knew where to go in Tampa Bay.  This year’s theme of “Old World Florida – Rustic and Refined,” featured great food and cutting edge decor that showcased the flavor and feel of the South Florida region.

The gala was held at The Palmetto Club, at Fishhawk Ranch in Lithia, FL and boasted a guest list of more than 200 local realtors and VIP’s that basked in the beautiful custom designed decor and lighting by MMD Events, enjoyed specialty cocktails by uDream Events and feasted on delicious passed hors D’ouvres and innovative food stations from Good Food Catering Company.

Producing high profile events is our specialty and we take pride in working side by side with other event companies.  Whether it is a corporate VIP tailgate party for 20 or a gala event for 400, Good Food Catering Company brings out the innovation and teamwork necessary to pull it off in style.  In addition to our in-town vendor partners, we worked with Lisa Teiger of CuisinEtc Catering in New York City as a menu consultant and even had a guest chef for the evening – Chef Tom Morelli from Chicago, IL.

Here is a sneak peak of some of the event photos:

Summer Catering – Hot Weather and Cool Food (click for photos)
Posted on July 16th, 2009 - No Comments

Just recently, Good Food Catering Company was commissioned (pun intended) to cater a 50 guest cocktail party for the Coast Guard Foundation, held at the Coast Guard Base on the water in St. Petersburg. Since the temperatures outside were hovering in the low 100′s, we created a great summery spread of cold and room temperature foods that helped our guests beat the heat, sip on some cold cocktails and enjoy the Good Food.

In addition to the great food, we dressed up the decor with some crisp white linens, yellow daisies, clear glass blocks and patches of wheatgrass. Thank you to our friends in catering for the decor ideas and inspiration – CuisinEtc and Charlotte Berwind Fine Foods, both in New York, as well as Carte Wheels Caterers in Texas.

Also a big thank you to uDream Events for event services, rentals, beverages and bartending; as well as Erin Nutini for the great photography!

Having a summertime event and need Tampa Catering or Tampa Wedding Catering? Give us a call and we’ll help you cool off with great food.

Enjoy!

Fancy Food in an Airport Hangar (click for photos)
Posted on March 31st, 2009 - 3 Comments

A great caterer should be able to adapt to unique situations and we did that last week by serving some upscale and tasty Hors d’oeuvres for an event in an airport hangar!

We had the pleasure of co-sponsoring an event with a private jet company and a large financial services firm at a private hangar at the Clearwater-St. Petersburg Airport.  The purpose of the afternoon was to showcase private jet services for business owners and high net worth individuals who may benefit from owning shares of a private jet.  Our goal was to provide them with good food (pun intended)!

In addition to the food, we brought along our friends at uDream Events to provide bar services.  And what about the food?

Service Matters!
Posted on March 9th, 2009 - No Comments

Several months ago my wife and I attended a wedding at a prestigious yacht club on the west coast of Florida.  The decor, centerpieces and flowers were gorgeous, the cocktails were flowing and the opportunity to spend time with friends was great.  As fantastic as the wedding was, the one thing remembered by many of us today was “smelly Bob,” the name given to a bartender who was surrounded by a cloud of offensive odor. Given the amount of money spent on the wedding, it was shocking and inexcusable for a venue to skimp on the one thing that mattered the most – service.

Although it sometimes seems like an afterthought, the service staff will make an event memorable, for good or bad.  I am sure you’ve been to a party and waited an exorbitant amount of time in line to get a drink, only to finally make it to the bar and be greeted by a bartender who would rather be elsewhere.  And I would bet there was a time when you went to a restaurant with mediocre food but still had a great experience because of that talented waiter or waitress who made you feel special.

Good Food Catering Company was established to provide superior culinary experiences for events and weddings in the Tampa Bay region.  Although  food is a top priority for us and for our clients, we feel that providing top-notch service is just as crucial to making an event memorable. We don’t use a staffing agency to fill spots in our staff; each of our team members is hand picked for their respective talents and experience.  When it comes to service staff, we hire based on a positive attitude, willingness to go the extra mile and a great big smile.  In addition, we’ve teamed up with uDream Events of Clearwater for all of our bar staffing because they share our passion and pride for providing great service.

When it comes to your image and your successful event, we take it very seriously.   By working with Good Food Catering Company for your event, not only will you get fantastic food, but your guests will leave with a lasting positive impression that they will remember for a long time to come.

-Kevin

p.s. I’ll leave you with a few photos of some of our great team members…

NFL Brunch with Jim Kelly, 4-time Super Bowl Legend
Posted on February 21st, 2009 - 2 Comments

Last month during Super Bowl week in Tampa, we had the unique opportunity to work with one of the NFL’s greatest quarterbacks and did it for a good cause. Good Food Catering Company was the perfect fit to cater a “Carolina Coast” themed brunch to benefit Hunter’s Hope, a charity started by Jim Kelly, 4 time Super Bowl legend and NFL hall of fame member.

The event was held at the MiraBay Welcome Center in Apollo Beach and featured a top-notch Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar, a jazz quartet, an appearance and speech by Jim Kelly and of course, outstanding Southern style food from Good Food Catering Company.
